In line with its mission "to be the preferred provider of affordable quality education, the University's Advisory Council consists of members who bring rich academic and educational experience. This council serves as the advisory body to the University's top management, administration, and faculty on issues ranging from long term directions and missions setting, the development of new and innovative academic programs, the improvement and upgrading of existing programs, and ensuring that proper quality standards are maintained.
The following are some of the key functions of the Advisory Council:
- Provides advice and counsel to the President, administration, and academic members of the University in achieving its mission and organizational goals.
- Participates in the strategic planning process and development of programs to ensure the accomplishment of objectives.
- Provides advice and assistance to the University on matters related to faculty development.
- Supports community development programs such as offering scholarships to the needy students, and community-based seminars/conferences sponsored by the University.
- Assists the University in creating internships and employment opportunities for students.
- Assists the University in identifying and cultivating business supporters.
- Engages in other activities proposed and approved by the Council.
Mr. David Baeckelandt
Mr. Baeckelandt earned an M.A. and B.A. in Japanese and Chinese History from the University of Illinois (C-U) and Konan University, Kobe, Japan (Study Abroad). Mr. Baeckelandt has been an invited speaker at several universities, on broadcast television, and at select professional dinners and luncheons. He has spoken publicly on Japan, private equity, and financial history, been quoted in more than a half-dozen books and articles, has published more than a dozen articles on the above topics and is also a regular commentator for the Japanese community newspaper Chicago Shinpo. Mr. Baeckelandt is Managing Principal and Founder of Chicago Pacific Capital Partners, L.L.C. ("CPCP") and President of Chicago Pacific Capital Advisors, Inc. ("CPCA"). CPCP is a partnership of experienced Asian hands in Chicago, Honolulu, Shanghai and Tokyo, dedicated to making investments in the Pacific Rim, mentoring the establishment of Asian concepts in the U.S., and serving as a General Partner to a pending pan-Pacific Rim private equity fund.

Dr. Adalat Khan
Dr. Adalat Khan brings a rich and diversified experience in the field of distance education. His academic education includes an LLB (Law) degree from Karachi University, MBA from Peshawar University, Pakistan, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from the American University, Hawaii. He is an internationally renowned trainer and consultant, registered on the consultancy rosters of The ILO United Nations, The Commonwealth, and The Asian Development Bank. He has provided consultancies to Medtronics International (Holland) the biggest pace making company in the world in their switchover to the Japanese style of management, German Agency for Development Co-operation (GTZ) for designing and conducting entrepreneurship training, and the Swiss government for developing policy for the promotion of small and medium scale industries. He has written several publications, which are published in United Nation's publications, international magazines, WORLD EXECUTIVE DIGEST, and Management Times, regarding BPR, management, leadership, communication, business and entrepreneurship development. He has also appeared on various television and radio programs and has been interviewed by international magazines.

Dr. Aysar Philip Sussan, D.B.A
A renowned academician and an outstanding professor, Dr. Sussan holds a B.S. degree in Engineering Technology and Management from Gannon University in Erie, PA. M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Columbia University, New York City and D.B.A.Degree in Human Resource Management and International Management from NSU, Florida.
He brings twenty-two years of experience in administration, consultation, and teaching from a variety of institutions. He has served as a Dean of Academic Affairs and Director for the M.B.A Program, and is currently serving as a consultant for the National Alliances for Economic Development, as well as a Professor for the University of Central Florida-USA, teaching graduate courses in the area of Strategic Management,Organizational Behavior, International Business, and Leadership. He has globally taught management concepts in different locations such as Europe, Middle East, Canada, Costa Rica, Jamaica, and the Caribbean Islands. He has provided services for various organizations, such as American Express, Florida Power and Lighting, Southern Bell, and Westinghouse Nuclear Facility.
