It emphasizes current industry practices, making it a useful reference for the construction professional
DCM 302 CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS
This course is an exploration of the basics of contracts as applied to the construction industry and focuses upon the different types of contracts and their fundamentals, on the impact of information technology on contracts and contracting, and on the effect of contracts on the management, administration, and the costs of construction work. Using the published standard forms of construction contracts as models and guides, it helps students develop an understanding not only of the contract process in general, but also of the different kinds of construction contracts and of why one should be used rather than another in a given situation.
DCM 303 CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT
This course provides the student with the "big picture" of the construction management process, giving a perspective as to how the construction industry functions in relation to the national economy and in the public's eye. Examining in detail the estimating, scheduling, control, and administrative functions of a project and how they tie into the project "timeline," the subject focuses on the collaborative effort required to complete any public or private project, and examines the roles and responsibilities of all project participants.
DCM 304 CONSTRUCTION SAFETY
This course is designed to help the future construction manager, engineer, or architect understand the basic principles and latest research in construction safety. Much more than a review of OSHA guidelines, this course summarizes the latest research in a way that managers can use immediately. There is an emphasis on the principles of accident prevention and more proactive approach towards ensuring safety.
DCM 305 HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

After clarifying the strategic role of human resource management, the course introduces the concepts of equal job opportunity and the law, followed by job analysis and human resource planning. Human resource planning operating under the overall strategic plan of an organization provides human in-put towards the realization of its set goals. The module vividly illustrates the interrelationship of human resource management functions and the increasing utilization of technology.

This module provides an overview of the methods, equipment, and materials used in the construction of large commercial buildings. The topics covered here are the principles and practices of a particular aspect of the construction process-from site layout to building finishes-supporting discussions with a wealth of clear, captivating illustrations.
DCM 307 FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
This course provides a solid and enduring foundation of the tools of modern theory while at the same time developing the logic behind their use. This course constitutes a strong basis on which to build future studies and, for those students who are non-finance majors, a lasting understanding in the fundamentals of finance.
